Xiaomi recently launched Redmi Watch 2 Lite smartwatch in South Africa. The Xiaomi Redmi Watch Lite 2 is a successor form last year’s Xiaomi Redmi Watch Lite. The new smartwatch has a 1.55-inch HD screen with a super lightweight design and many customisable watch faces for you to choose from.

One of the best things about this smartwatch is truly it’s lightweight design which makes it easy and comfortable throughout the day and to wear while sleeping.

It’s physical size and design is 41.2mm x 35.3mm frame and it’s only 10.7mm thick which really gives it a sleek look. With it’s replaceable silicone straps it adds to the comfort and makes it easy for every day wear. The silicone straps are easy to change and they are also anti-bacterial.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite only has one physical button that is placed on the right hand side of the watch. This button is mainly used to access the menu or to just simply wake up the display.

At the back of the watch it has optical sensors that are used for monitoring heart rate, stress levels and other measurements. It also has two metal pins that are used for charging.

The Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite features a 1.55inch square TFT touchscreen display. The display is the perfect size and does not compromise on the accessibility front. The colours on the display are crisp and all the information is easy to read.

The square shape of the watch helps it to display more information in a proportionate way. With various brightness modes to choose from it is easy to view all information and access the features even under hard sunlight. Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite gets the same user interface (UI) as the Redmi Watch. The UI is quite simple and easy to use. When you swipe down, you can see the notifications that you have received. When you swipe up, you can access options such as settings, display, alarm and others. When you swipe left or right, you view your heart rate, blood-oxygen level, weather and more.

The device comes pre-loaded with over 100 workout modes and 17 professional modes including HIIT and Yoga. To see in-depth tracking details and manage various settings on the smartwatch, you can pair it with the Mi Fitness app that is available to download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, the smartwatch functions better when paired with an Android smartphone. The app UI is also quite informative and easily accessible.
When it comes to battery performance, the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite does not fail to impress. The company claims that the smartwatch can last up to 10 days on a single charge.

We have tested it and found the claim to be true to a great extent. The device can be charged with a two-pin magnetic charging cradle.
